About e-Poultry

Built by farmers, for farmers

e-Poultry is an AI-powered Agtech platform that gives smallholder poultry farmers access to chicks, feeds, and vaccines on credit, smart productivity tools, IoT security, and guaranteed markets, helping them reduce losses, increase income, and scale profitably.

Who We Are

Driven by purpose, powered by technology

We are an African Agtech company on a mission to bring every poultry farmer into the digital economy, with tools that are simple, accessible, and built for real farming conditions across East Africa.

Our Mission

Empower smallholder poultry farmers with access to finance, markets, and technology under one platform, boosting their income by 40%.

Our Vision

Digitally empowered smallholder poultry farmers driving Africa's sustainable food security.

Our Values

Farmer-first design. Radical transparency. Inclusive access. We build with farmers, not just for them. Every feature is shaped by the people using it in the field every day.

Our Story

10 years in poultry. One platform to change it all.

After 4 years working with Aga Khan Hospital, our Co-Founder quit in 2015 to venture into poultry farming. That boots-on-the-ground experience led to working with over 10,000 poultry farmers in East Africa, end to end across the poultry value chain, for over 10 years, building a million-dollar company that went on to become one of the biggest poultry companies in Western Kenya: Chicken Basket Ltd.

Along the way, he coined "Chomapreneurship," a concept that trained over 8,000 youth in street food vending, providing over 3,000 grills and business starter packages, supported by GIZ, FAO, USAID, MEDA, and the National Government.

In 2023, Abisai Nandi decided to pivot to Agtech, having seen first-hand the challenges farmers faced every day. He put his 10 years of experience toward something bigger: a platform that would change poultry farming completely across Africa. With GIZ approving the concept note, ePoultry was born.

In that first year, over 2,000 poultry farmers were engaged and 20 IoT hardware units were tested, generating over $40,000 in revenue with the pilot phase fully funded by GIZ. From there, a team of engineers was assembled, focused on hardware research and development, and EPOULTRY LTD was launched.

Today, ePoultry integrates 10+ productivity tools including record keeping, disease detection, extension services, a marketplace, and solar- and AI-powered hardware into one platform for smallholder poultry farmers in Africa.

Our Journey

From startup to movement

Six years of building alongside Kenya's poultry farmers, every milestone shaped by the people we serve.

2020

The Spark

e-Poultry was founded after our founders spent months visiting smallholder poultry farmers across Western Kenya and witnessing the same pattern: talented, hardworking farmers struggling without data, capital, or reliable market access.

2021

First Farmers Onboarded

Launched across Nairobi, Nakuru, and Western Kenya counties. Farmers began digitizing flock records, tracking mortality, and logging vaccine events for the first time. Extension officers were recruited to bridge the digital gap.

2022

Farm Financing Goes Live

Introduced the farm financing module. Farmers could now access working capital for day-old chicks, feeds, and equipment with repayment tied to their harvest cycle.

2023

Marketplace and Hardware

Launched the buy and sell marketplace, connecting farmers directly with verified off-takers. Deployed the first IoT hardware devices: smart solar cameras and sirens giving farmers real-time farm security and monitoring.

2024

1,000 Farmers and Growing

Reached 1,000+ active farmer accounts across 15 counties. Over 500,000 chickens transacted through the platform. 50+ extension officers onboarded and deployed across key poultry counties.

2025

East Africa Expansion

Scaling beyond Kenya to reach smallholder farmers across East Africa. Groups and Cooperatives launched on the web portal. Hardware equipment programme expanded with 20+ smart devices deployed.
