• Performance Cookies: Monitor page load times, API response times, and app performance to ensure a smooth experience even on slower connections common in rural areas.

3. Cookies on Our Mobile App

The e-Poultry mobile app uses similar technologies:

• Session Tokens: Stored securely on your device to keep you logged in between app sessions.
• Offline Cache: Farm records, flock data, and pending sync items stored locally for offline functionality.
• Device Identifiers: Used to send push notifications and associate your account with your device for security purposes.
• Crash Reporting: Anonymous crash logs help us fix bugs quickly. No personal farm data is included in crash reports.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We minimize third-party cookies. The following services may set cookies on our platform:

• Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/GCP): Load balancing and CDN performance cookies.
• Payment Processors (M-Pesa/Safaricom): Session cookies during payment flows.
• Analytics (self-hosted): We use privacy-first analytics. No data is shared with Google, Facebook, or other advertising networks.
• We do not serve advertisements and therefore do not use any advertising or retargeting cookies.

5. Cookie Retention Periods

Different cookies have different lifespans:

• Session Cookies: Deleted when you close your browser or app.
• Authentication Cookies: Retained for 7 days (or 30 days if you select 'Remember Me').
• Preference Cookies: Retained for 12 months, then refreshed on your next visit.
• Analytics Cookies: Retained for a maximum of 90 days.

• Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in.
• App Settings: In the e-Poultry app, go to Settings > Privacy to manage offline data storage and analytics preferences.
• Opt-Out of Analytics: Contact us at privacy@e-poultry.com to opt out of all analytics tracking while retaining full platform access.
• Clearing cookies will log you out and reset your dashboard preferences, but your farm data remains safe on our servers.

7. Do Not Track (DNT)

We respect the Do Not Track signal sent by some browsers. If your browser sends a DNT header, we disable all non-essential analytics tracking for your session. Your experience on the platform remains unchanged.
